Richard Dobson, owner and contractor of Bay-Marin Construction, has over 30 years experience in all phases of residential remodeling. Since its inception in San Rafael in 1995, Bay-Marin Construction has completed extensive home remodeling projects in San Francisco, Mill Valley and as far south as Woodside and Menlo Park.

Richard is a "working contractor". He is hands-on on every project: working on framing; doing the fine trim carpentry; and supervising and assisting subcontractors on the job. This gives Bay-Marin immediate project-management capabilities and closer quality-control throughout the process. Richard is on-hand to address any client concerns, nearly every day of the work process.

We are a small, "boutique" remodeling company, specializing in helping our clients get exactly what they want for their homes. We make dreams come true! We maintain the "mom and pop feel" while providing you with service that exceeds those of the big-guy contracting companies. We've grown on word of mouth alone, and most of the people who have contracted with us over the years are still our customers.

We take diligent care to insure our clients feel comfortable with their remodeling process; and to minimize the impact of the work on their lives and households. We also have strict risk-management oversight to anticipate and prevent any liability issues during the remodeling work. Bay-Marin Construction has the distinction of being the first private contracting company authorized to perform remodeling work in The Presidio in San Francisco, during the summer of 2002 . We were vetted by Presidio Trust and all of our references were contacted.  We renovated four bathrooms, the kitchen, den and master bedroom, for a single-home project, plus freshened up the entire house. Part of the project included makingusable rooms in the attic and a gym room in the basement of this prestigious "officer's home".  This was a "green" construction project for us, as the Presidio management has a strict reuse and recycle policy for building materials.  Bay-Marin had use of Presidio storehouses of recycled items kept from remodeling projects over decades, as well as being responsible for carefully preserving materials removed from the home.

We are currently headquartered in Tiburon, which gives us easy access to Marin County remodeling projects; and it's just a quick trip across the Golden Gate Bridge to San Francisco. We work in San Francisco and Marin County, including San Rafael, Larkspur, Mill Valley, Tiburon, San Anselmo and Novato.
